As a 24-year-old single woman, I found myself navigating the world of real estate at a time when many didn’t take me seriously. It was a journey marked by determination, self-reliance, and the drive to turn challenges into opportunities.
My foray into real estate began with attending open houses, eager to explore the market and find my own place to call home. However, what I encountered was an industry where my age, single status and gender often left me feeling overlooked and underestimated.
Undeterred, I took matters into my own hands, conducting extensive research and educating myself about the real estate market. Armed with newfound knowledge, I embarked on the daunting task of purchasing a new home—a decision that would ultimately shape my future career path.
Navigating the home buying process, I encountered an agent who, unfortunately, fell short of my expectations. With little understanding of the new construction process, I found myself feeling unsupported and frustrated. Despite the challenges, I remained steadfast in my determination to achieve my goal of homeownership.
Sitting alone at the closing table, keys in hand, I realized the importance of empowerment and self-reliance. This experience ignited a fire within me—a desire to ensure that others never felt the same sense of disillusionment and vulnerability that I had experienced.
It was this pivotal moment that led me to pursue a career in real estate. Armed with firsthand experience and a newfound passion, I later obtained my real estate license, determined to provide others with the support and guidance they deserved.
With a background in sales and a natural affinity for negotiation, real estate felt like the perfect fit for me. It offered the opportunity to combine my love for helping others with my passion for strategic problem-solving.
